Holkham Hall

Holkham Hall and its surrounding estate is one of the most magnificent  privately owned  properties to be found in Norfolk. It is the ancestoral home of the cook family.

The Hall and its magnicent library, statues, paintings and furniture are used for academic’s in thier studies.
The famous beach has been voted the best beach in the uk by travel writers and the sight of Newmarket racehorses exercising on these vast sands is va true sight to behold
Holkham Beach and its surrounding grasslands make up one largest National Nature Reserves in the country, many rare species of flora and fauna can be foud here
The Holkham Estate consists of 6,100 hectares having 25 tenanted farms, who also manage a further 1500 acres. Crops consist of sugar beet, Wheat, barley,
beans, peas and potatoes. The livestock enterprises consist of a herd of 190 suckler beef cattle and a flock of 100 sheep.

“Excellent Gluten-free stay”

My sister and I took my mother to Felbrigg Lodge for her 80th birthday last weekend. We stayed in a lovely 2 bed 2 bathroom cottage, which was clean and comfortable. Importantly for us the restaurant food was also excellent and our gluten-free food was some of the best food we have had. All of our meals were individually made to our requirements. The proprietors were friendly and helpful. All round this was the 'perfect' weekend for all of us. I highly recommend Felbrigg Lodge especially for those with special food requirements.


“Great weekend away from the maddening crowd”

Just had a great weekend away on our first visit to Felbrigg Lodge,it is very peaceful and quiet even on a Bank Holiday weekend,Evening meals were wonderful,the pool big for such a small hotel 12.5metres plus a sauna and jacuzzi. We will be back.

“So sympathetic”

This is the second time we have taken our very elderly parents, one invalided and the other with advanced alzheimers. The staff could not do enough to help and accommodate us with our needs and handled the more eccentric behavior of the 'crumblies' with discretion and sympathy. The standard of the suites and food, both at breakfast and dinner, is high and furthermore if you have special requests like an early meal or something that is not on the planned menu the staff are more than helpful provided they are given notice.

“First visit to Felbrigg Lodge”

We have just returned from two days (3rd &4th June) at Felbrigg Lodge.This was our first visit and the accommodation was of a high standard. We stayed in the Chestnut suite and were not disappointed. Philip,Dee Dee and the staff were very accommodating,and friendly. The location is very peaceful with beautiful gardens and surroundings.
